UFC 89 Predictions
Chris Leben vs Michael Bisping
This is a tough one, boxer vs puncher so to speak. I'd give Leben the edge off his back, but I doubt that the fight will ever hit the mat. Michael Bisping has faster hands and more accurate striking but doesn't hit as hard as Chris. Chris has an amazing chin, but the only reason that we know Leben has a good chin is that he gets hit a lot...we haven't really seen Bispings chin as he's good at avoiding getting hit. Cardio favours Bisping as well, especially at 185. Either way, I expect the winner of this fight to get a title shot in the next 12 months.
Prediction : Michael Bisping
Keith Jardine vs Brandon Vera
Which Keith Jardine is going to show up, the devestating striker with the awkward movement or the guy who gets caught with a big punch and doesn't recover. Which Brandon Vera is going to show up, the devestating striker with a good ground game who overwhelms opponents, or the energy sapped weight cut Vera.
I personally think that Vera has all the advantages in this fight, after all one of Jardine's greatest weapons is his low kicks...but remember folks that Brandon Vera is a Rob Kaman student...and if anyone knows leg kicks it's Rob Kaman.
Prediction : Brandon Vera
Rameau Sokoudjou Vs. Luiz Cane
Cane has the experience and both of these guys despite their mastery of Judo and BJJ respectively like to knock guys out. I expect big shots to be thrown, but Cane will eventually try to take it to the mat, if Cane gets this to the ground I expect him to submit Sokoudjou...if not, I expect Sokoudjou to KO Cane.
Prediction : Luiz Cane
Paul Taylor Vs. Chris Lytle
When doing predictions I like to just throw a prediction out without justification...This one is it. Chris Lytle.

UFC 90 Fight Card
- Anderson Silva VS. Patrick Cote
- Goran Reljic vs. Thales Leites
- Junior “CIGANO” DOS Santos vs. Fabricio Werdum
- Tyson Griffin vs. Sean Sherk
- Gray Maynard vs. Rich Clementi
- Shannon Gugerty vs. Spencer Fisher
- Matt Horwich vs. Dan Miller
- Marcus Aurelio vs. Hermes Franca
- Pete Sell vs. Josh Burkman
When I initially looked at this card I was a little disappointed, but as I typed it out I realized that there are a number of interesting matchups on the card. Certainly the title bout between Cote and Silva is interesting given Cote's punching power and Silva's dominance. Throw in that Cote has never been KO'd and we have a recipe for a good fight.
Tyson Griffin vs Sean Sherk should tell us whether the very top of the lightweight division is a close race or if BJ Penn and Sean Sherk are heads and shoulders above the rest.
October 25th come back here and discuss the fights on the UFC 90 card.

Paradise Warrior Retreat Pictures are up
Johnny MMA and his clone, Matt Serra
I've posted almost 600 pictures of the recent Paradise Warrior Retreat in Toronto. Lighting conditions weren't great and there was always movement...a bad combination for taking photos, but some of them aren't too bad. Take a look and let me know what you think.

Oh yeah, in case you've forgotten there is a UFC event on the 18th and another one on the 25th. We still do UFC results on this site

Paradise Warrior Retreat
Here is a slideshow from last weekends Paradise Warrior Retreat in Toronto, see if you can pick out Bas Rutten, Matt Serra, Damien Maia, Babalu, Jeff Joslin and Rob Kaman. I'll be posting some individual pictures of the event as well.
The event was awesome and as you can see the fighters spent most of their time either teaching or helping. They were all very approachable and willing to share what they know.

UFC 92 Fights Added
UFC 92 is looking to be one of the best cards of the year with the addition of the following fights.
Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira vs Frank Mir
Quinton "Rampage" Jackson vs Wanderlei Silva
Forrest Griffin vs Rashad Evans
Two title fights and one sure thing war...wahoo!
Anyway that card isn't until November, October still has plenty of fight in it with an EliteXC card coming up this weekend and two UFC cards (18th and 25th)...UFC Results will be bringing predictions and results for all the UFC cards this month.

Dan Henderson vs Rich Franklin
Former Pride 205lb champion Dan Henderson will take on former UFC 185lb champ Rich Franklin in a light heavyweight (205lb) main event fight in Dublin Ireland on January 17th.
UFC 93 will also feature Mark Coleman vs "Shogun" Rua, this is their second time facing each other, the first one ended with Shogun breaking his arm...or should I say Coleman breaking Shogun's arm.

Demian Maia vs. Nate Quarry aT UFC 91
The title pretty much says it all, Nate has had a shot at the 185 title and got KO'd by Rich Franklin, but since then he's beaten Pete Sell and Kalib Starnes. Maia's recently defeated Jason MacDonald and Ed Herman.
It's going to be tough being un-biased in picking this fight as I just spent 3 days with Maia and he's a great guy (not to mention an absolute ground wizard). I like both of these guys and it's obviously going to be striker vs grappler, but I need to go with Maia.

Paradise Warrior Retreat was a blast
I'm sitting at work right now, so I don't have a chance to go into full details, but this weekends Paradise Warrior Retreat was amazing. Bas Rutten, Matt Serra, Damien Maia, Rob Kamen and Babalu were trainers and I'm sure the weekend raised the game of all who participated.
I also found a brand new spot to shop locally. Fight Planet in Hamilton, they had some stuff available at the event (I picked up some nice No Gi shorts and a few shirts), but visiting their web site really impressed me. It looks like I'll be taking a quick trip to Hamilton soon...or perhaps I'll just be lazy and order online
Anyway, it was a great weekend and I'll be posting a few pics and some more info soon.
...now back to work! Oh, and don't forget about Shamrock vs Kimbo next weekend followed by two weekends of UFC madness with Bisping vs Leben and Cote vs Silva...I declare October as kickass MMA month!
UFC Results will have full results for both of the October UFC events (the 18th is free on Spike, the 25th is on PPV).
